Not much I can do with my dorm.
Do you go to UMD by any chance? Because that looks almost exactly like my dorm down to the tiny desk they give you.

PS, that isn't hard
I just noticed that you are the same person I just (imho) shredded in two different posts above. Care to make a stand against anything I said as a direct response to your points? Or are you just gonna feed off someone else and reiterate yourself again?
I don't have time to answer your lengthy response point for point at the moment, maybe later tonight.
So, since my subjective opinion means nothing to you, I offer the following reveiw for your consideration from AnandTech. They compare the Apple and Dell 20" monitors. The link is the last page which has the conclusions, you can read the whole thing if you like.
The short of it is, in their technical opinion the Dell is better than the Apple. What's that? A "consumer" monitor is better than a "pro" monitor? Say it ain't so.
http://www.anandtech.com/displays/showdoc.aspx?i=2400&p=11
So, I'll stick to my guns and say the Apple 20" monitor isn't worth the price they are asking, and they are keeping it high it to encourage iMac purchases over a mini/cinema combo. It's only an opinion. I don't mean to come off like I know more than I do. My opinion is based only on my experiance with both monitors and my own decison making process based on price and budget. Since we can't see the actual sales numbers there is no way to prove/disprove anything.
Oh, and the Dell was purchased for me by my work, the Apple by me for my home.
And just a funny aside. The Dell was stolen a few months ago by theives who broke into our offices. They took our Dell monitors and a Dell Precision workstation but left my $2000 Powermac G5 the Dell monitor was plugged into. Go figure.
I got a 23" cinema to replace the Dell.

My roommate has 126ish GB of music. It is really weird to use a click wheel after using an iPhone or touch.
It would be cool if they updated the software to included AirPlay and bluetooth (same chip, so why not both).
You have a good point, I love my classic. I bought it even after owning my all 3 iterations of the iPhone because I actually like the click wheel. I can control songs, move around songs skip etc without ever needing to look at the screen. The search function is definitely light years ahead on the iOS interface. I'm thinking if they can fit a touchscreen on the nano they can surely fit a small touchscreen on the new classic and still retain the iconic click wheel I love so much.
The iPod classics are probably the longest lasting devices in Apple's line up, not just from a functioning life but also a styling perspective. I had the 5G for 5 years and it was still going strong, it never felt out of style either. I only upgraded because it was a 30GB and my music collection has grown exponentially over the years due to higher bit rate tracks.

Nice edit. CNN was first. :p
The edit wasn't supposed to suggest the Beeb got it first it's just where I saw it. There really isn't a "we got if first" thing in news reporting, stuff tends to come first on the wire services and video comes from essentially auction centres (I know of two one in Atlanta and one in London ) which within seconds sells "exclusive" images on the open market.Al Jaz gets something and it's on Beeb/Cnn etc within minutes for example.

This year better be good!
It's all gone a bit 1984.
"The first 30 years were just the beginning.............NOW WE TAKE CONTROL!"
*cue troops blocking off all transport routes and closing down all forms of communication as Steve Jobs consolidates power*
The next millenia will belong to the racially pure nerdy 30-something urban professional.
Sorry, I've just read "The Plot Against America" :o

In order to make this product perfect Apple needs to give it a few more features:
A) Add a HDD bay so that if one wants, they can add built-in DVR functionality. (I said the BAY and not the actual HDD because not EVERYONE wants this feature- hear that Sony?)
B) Add a built in iPod dock. This would enable friends to bring their iPod to your iTv and play their videos.
C) Enable drag and drop functionality to the HDD, enabling the iTv to play your movies even when not connected to the internet- or in the car etc.
D) Change the remote- no offense, but this remote needs a few more buttons, considering it may drive a media hub.
I don't know if anyone has told you yet...

So, this doesn't mean it would be possible to upgrade a 2010 15" MBP's GPU from the INTEL HD graphics to anything different does it??

I do think if the Classic stays around, you will see two changes:
1. It will switch from hard drive to SSD storage once SSD technology matures enough.
2. It will get a larger and higher resolution display, but keep the Click Wheel interface in a slightly smaller version to accommodate the bigger screen.
Don't be surprised we see a Classic with a larger screen and 192 GB of flash memory within two years.

I assume Safari 5.1 is in this refresh of Lion Preview?
Is it faster? How is memory the resource usage? :cool:I retract my previous statement; the current build seems just as bad as the last and that's on the aforementioned 8GB toting i7 MBP. Even with Flash disabled and harmful scripts blocked, it's a hog capable of eating a combined 3GB or more on its own; the split processes in Activity Monitor just make it look nicer.
Unrelated: does anyone else have a problem keeping their Google Calendars synced in iCal? I hop in and it shows me the local calendars, but I end up having to go into settings and manually recheck my Delegates to get the server-side calendars to trickle back down.

This rental thing sounds stupid. Secondly, whats to stop some of us from figureing away out to kill the timed life of hte movie files so we can keep it forever. (seeing if we are downloading them)
There will be more pirates than ever if apple does movies. I can think of so many ways.
Even if they are streamed, I know ways to keep the movie.

WOW!!! iCal looks *********g UGLY... I hope they add an option to use a standard gray toolbar area... That seems so unlike apple to do something like that.
Heh.. What if they give everything that look :). I think I would switch to windows if they did that..
To be honest I'm starting to like the new look. It gives some variety to the normal old gray windows. I think they'll change it up a little after all of these complaints but I doubt it'll go back to grey.

Having now had an iphone 4 for a month, I consider this the most overblown problem I've ever come across. Yes, I can lose bars if I don't have a case and hold it a certain way while in a bad coverage area. I can do that on my 3GS and bb curve, too. Yes, I lose more bars with the iphone 4 than those phones. But again, only with no case and holding it a certain way, in a low coverage area. So I move my finger a quarter inch.
Who. freaking. cares.
Honestly, people are so worried about the principle of the matter (I shouldn't have to use a case! I shouldn't have to change how I hold it!) that they've completely missed whether it actually really makes for a worse experience. For me, it absolutely does not.
I also still don't get how CR can give it the highest overall rating and not recommend it.

Launchpad is now fixed.. Click and hold to move multiple apps (shakes like iPhone)
When launching expose dock doesn't crash any more...
Much snappier in performance
Has anyone noticed when shutting down the menu bar up top stays into the blue screen?
Also has anyone noticed that spot light doesn't show apps anymore?
So does the Launchpad have an easy way to remove icons yet?

This story gets buried in the blog and a story of ninja stars makes page one? No Apple bias here.
Consumer Reports says "we still think the same thing" for the third time and that's first page news? Sounds more like they're fishing for free publicity.
Anyway, when a reviewing organization "doesn't recommend" what I consider the best phone I've ever owned, it sounds more like I shouldn't bother paying attention to that reviewing organization. Their taste just isn't relevant to mine.
