I'm planning on getting back into photography, I'd like to get a Canon T2i and the 'Nifty Fifty' lens, So I will just use my new Pelican for that.

To me, Members here at MacRumors (not all, but lots) are the dictionary definition for 'Internet Bullying/Harassment.'

You're claiming there are ignorant bigots in the industry. I don't think anyone disagrees with you. The better qualifier for an editor would be to see some of their work. Someone who can achieve greatness with iMovie probably is a better editor than someone who can achieve the same greatness with FCP.

I haven't really used iMovie since HD, so to be honest I don't really care what they do to it. It's "Super quick to capture and edit DV" time has come and gone.

Even before the reworking you are complaining about it was an HD product, not a DV product. And if you haven't used it, one what basis are you saying it time has come and gone? Prejudice?

On the manufacturing side, the creating side the professional side there are many times complex problems to solve and those problems require more complicated tools.

You really are worried that Final Cut Pro will not be more complicated than iMovie??!

What is there to update on the classic besides capacity?

When you drive to/from Toronto all the time, standard just makes no sense, now that autos are much more efficient.

Conventional torque converter auto's still sap more power and fuel than sticks. But, with DCT's entering the market, the advantage of the manual transmission went out the window.

That has killed interest for me at least for a stick. Unless you like rowing your own gears, DCT's are the way to go. They can get the same or better in performance and fuel economy.

Actually, you're wrong on both premise. On crowded roads, manuals are better. No need to constantly hit the brakes, you can better control a car's speed with a manual with compression and clutch manipulation. In traffic, I hardly ever touch the brakes.

On straight roads, manual is again better. For passing, a quick throttle blip/downshift gives you better boost than waiting for an automatic to kick in as you stomp the pedal.
Valid points however, anyone driving in stop and go traffic will tell you automatics are a lot easier on the knees. Also, after a tiring day at work the last thing I wanted to do was drive a stick in that mess.

Also, you can downshift in an automatic as well. Most people don't do that though.

Any driving enthousiast doesn't mind a clutch and a stick, no matter the situation.

Not true. If you buy a Mac-app or iOS app all the updates for that version are free. A new version is a whole new program that must be bought again on both platforms.

What confuses you is that most iOS developers have decided to just keep updating their first version forever and not come out with a whole new version because they've decided that makes more sense on a smart phone than it does on a desktop machine.

But that's a business decision, not a technical one. A developer could do it either way on either platform.

Yes, that SKU will always be free for updates. They can create a separate SKU for a new major release and charge people again. Some did this when the iPad came out.

Apple is moving towards cheaper software, and has been from around 2000.

I think it would be pretty weird if each version of Final Cut was $299 now.

Actually, while I couldn't disagree with iMac-Japan more, I have heard the itms doesn't actually make a profit on it's own... It's real purpose is to sell iPods, & break even on the sales of songs, or so I'm told...
