Get the MacBook pro. When you need more disk space, get a nice fast external Thunderbolt disk (they'll be just as fast as internal disks on the MacPro).
The new MBP machines are really fast - coming up to the speed of my 3 year old 8 core MacPro.
Then buy an iMac in a year by which time it will have Thunderbolt too - and use your external drives on that.

The new ProKit 6.0.2 is NOT a good update for ANYONE using Final Cut Studios. From 1.5 up to FCS 3.
The Apple Discussion Forums are jam packed with people complaining that it is messing up their program. Me included. Most notably in DVD Studio Pro 4. Old projects cannot be opened and hang up upon opening and crash the program.
Here is the discussion thread with answer on how to fix it.
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12925293#12925293
In short, you need to delete the Prokit 6.0.2 update and reinstall the previous version to ProKit 5.0.1. Once complete, everything fixes itself and runs correctly almost immediately.

I got mine at the super target at fort union. They had 4 yesterday. The was 1 guy who took 1 and i took 1. So if you are lucky they mit still have some.
I'm going to call them as soon as I can. Do they have a limit of one per person, why didn't you buy two?

Otterbox has a guarantee. If you need a new silicon they'll send you a knew one no questions asked.
Isn't the Otterbox guarantee only for one year? Perhaps one year warranty is good enough.
So....does the silicone case stretch out where it requires a replacement?

For those that currently use iTMS, the presence of other music providers supplying and actively marketing "iPod compatible" tracks will create competition that Apple currently don't have. This will drive prices down, or force Apple to add value to their own offerings. (For those that don't buy via iTMS, instead choosing to rip CDs or use P2P networks, it makes no difference either way).
This assumes that Apple sets prices and controls content. It really doesn't--the store is barely above break-even, and Apple owns none of the content. Competition only weakens Apple's bargaining power with the RIAA, which in turn will drive prices UP. We've already seen them try.
For the broader market, increased availabilty of "iPod compatible" tracks from various suppliers can only enhance the iPods appeal. Clearly it would be preferable for Apple to licence their actual DRM to other suppliers, but they won't. This is a happy workaround.
What is the inherent "good" in being able to buy Fairplay tracks from other vendors? Purely that lower prices might happen on other websites (with high startup costs and bad licensing positions with the RIAA, making this "lower price" for mainstream music almost impossible)? The only advantage I can see is for small indie labels, who might provide high-quality DRMed files for good prices. This of course would be good for everyone, but it's not exactly a huge market.

Completely misleading. iPad runs a mobile OS that's much less CPU intensive. The iPad is not five times slower in performing everyday tasks like web browsing, e-mail, word processing, etc.

It is exactly the same. I even tried putting my iMac on the DMZ in my router to see whether a totally exposed machine helps, but not so.
You are running a Apple router and I am running a Linksys with the stock firmware. I will screw around a bit more in both my mac and the router and see whether I can sort something out and keep you guys posted.
Your settings match the Photos posted on page 1? PM me your ichat/AIM name.

That will make things a bit easier. Okay, I've actually never need that feature, but it is good to have I guess.

You CHAMPION! :D :D
Yeah, that fixed it. It's a shame the iPod doesn't have more time-zones. You'd think they'd account for Australia! :rolleyes:No problem... :)
Coming from a small European country outside EU, I can understand your frustration of being left out, sometimes (all though we haven't got that particular problem, as we share time zone with e.g. Paris and Berlin... ;))

This thread has something to do with taxes?
Do you know of any other way someone's wealth might be taken from them? Theft? Come on. Really.

What kind of TV? The better the resolution, the hard the Mini will have to work to power it, the the worse it will look.
Does the TV has HDMI, DVI, VGA, Component, Composite or S-Video inputs?(Or if your out side of the US, I know there are a few other inputs, I just don't know there names)
Edit- I now see its an HDTV...what kind of HD? 720p, 1080i or 1080p? I'd go with HDMI, DVI or VGA(in that order) if your TV has those inputs

My iMac G5 is really starting to show its age. I can't decide if I want a 27" iMac or a 13" MacbookAir. I don't really need an optical drive. I use it to import CD's to iTunes. I can always do that on anther Mac and transfer the files later.

Yea I'd suggest you sleep it, when it's always running the HDDs are spinning along with the fans and it's more uptime > sleep in terms of operation.
It won't kill the battery to sleep it multiple times a day, I don't sleep/wake it as mucha s you on a daily basis but you shouldn't have any problems.

Hopefully the iPhone comes to T-Mobile in the UK. I just renewed my contract in August, but NEXT August ('07) I will be needing a new phone and I will be using T-Mobile, iPhone or no iPhone.
