You'll probably be better off trying to sell your Touch out right. I don't think anyone would have an unopened iPhone.

    Hi guys... :)

I got my new eMac in the mail today and love everything... except one thing. ;)

When I am listening to my mp3s, or doing anything to play sound, I am experiencing something that seems odd...

And that is, I have to have the volume on my eMac turned up to about the 6th or 7th level to hear any sound at a good volume. Weird???

I just upgraded from a Graphite iMac G3/600, and I could play music fine, with great sound volume, on the first sound level. The 8th sound level on my iMac would be very LOUD, but this new eMac has to be on the 8th level to get just normal good sound out. Is this NORMAL??

Has anyone else experienced this or heard of it happening? Do you have any idea how to change it so I can get some sound coming out on the 1st or 2nd level? Shouldn't it make SOME sound on level 1 and 2? Please help :) Thanks!

When my old MacBook died, I was going to replace it with the 11" MBA, but after realizing how limited the HD was and how much it would cost me to get decent storage capacity for my pictures and music I decided to get a 13" MBP.

Yes, I've used the "superdrive" just once since I bought this computer, but I have a healthy amount of storage capacity, an SD slot and heck, I can even play some TF2, L4D 2 and StarCraft 2 (on mid settings) on my free time, for the same price of a 11" MBA with a 128 GB SSD.

I'm in no way a power user, but I like to take my stuff with me at all times. With my games, music, photos and a couple of other programs I have installed I would definitely be short of space with a stock MBA.

Until a ~250 GB SSD from Apple gets a fair price, or the 128 GB becomes the standard drive at just $999, I don't plan on buying a MBA. I like it, a lot, but the base model needs to improve its specs a little bit.

It appears that you need to repurchase your pre iTunes 7.0 music videos if you want the improved quality. I experimented by repurchasing one of my pre iTunes 7.0 music videos. I now have two copies of the same music video. One at the old resolution; the other at the new resolution.

I believe this to be unsatisfactory. This is not a format change, but an incremental quality improvement. My computer is authorised, my account is valid, and my downloads legal.

Apple is getting two bites at the cherry!

That's why I simply did not purchase any videos at the older, lower resolution.

Heh, after reading another thread I just thought of something else. Don't get too hung up on numbers. A couple of my favorite images were taken with a pinhole camera. Talk about anti-dpi: just a cardboard box, a piece of photo paper and sheet of copper with a tiny pinhole poked into it. One picture of a kitten has a nice, soft and etherial quality to it. Another taken down the length of a bleacher has almost limitless depth of field.

Even at 50MP it would be difficult to reproduce either of these images yet I still enjoy looking at them.

Mac OS isn't Microsoft Windows so it's best to adopt the Mac ways. Learn to use "drag and drop" which is implemented much better in Mac OS than Microsoft Windows. Folders spring open which helps navigating to the destination, however you can also drag to the desktop and then drag from the desktop to the destination. If you are moving a group of files, they will stay grouped on the desktop and don't have to be reselected.

New here, and planning to purchase a new mac mini for next school year. Here are some question, hope someone can help me out. I had already read some of this, but still want to make sure.
I would use for school work, some graphic designing, music composing, and of course a bit gaming.

2.4GHz or 2.66GHz ? Would it be different of the performance?
Would like to upgrade ram, a little question that on the apple website is "8GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM (add $300...)", and I saw someone said this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231294
would be work fine, is it?
I had already got a bluetooth keyboard with said work with windows, mac, android etc. could it be work? and might also a bluetooth mouse I use with windows right now.. I know it kind of dum question, but just want to make sure and save some money.
About the applecare, should i buy it as well or not? If not, could I buy it like 11 months after i purchase the mac mini?

Thanks for reading my questions, and all of the answers :)

And if you need to use those pages or keynote projects at work or in school?

I used Keynote in school and currently use it at work, giving scientific presentations on a monthly basis at the least. There is not a huge need for it to be interoperable with PPT for me, although I can import what I need from colleagues and make it look much nicer in my Keynote talk. From what I've seen, Office needs to become interoperable within itself before people whine too much about compatibility between iWork and Office.

I made a project in C that was a "command line tool" in XCode. It uses GLUT/OpenGL, so it does have a user interface. It works fine, and I can run it from Terminal, but I was wondering if there was any way to allow it to run from Finder.

I did create a new target (a Cocoa application), and I included the linked frameworks and removed the prefix header and it compiles and runs. However, it won't work from Finder. I think that the problem is that my program relies on a file named "Input" that it assumes is in its directory. I tried using
    FILE* data = fopen("../../Input", "r");

Don't think a template will be a piece of cake either... to modify the template you will probably need some knowledge of html/flash coding/css/php/javascript/. You can also check out some Wordpress Themes like these:

Sounds to me like the hard drive is dead. Try booting from the instal disc and use Disk Utility to check the status of the internal hard drive. Also what discs exactly are you using to try and reinstall? Are you using the discs that came with that G5 (probably 10.3 or 10.4), discs that shipped with a new Mac or a bought copy of OS X 10.x?

color keyboard just got an update (may4), and there are a LOT of choices.
different keyboards, even different 'pop-up' letters when you type
(some really nice ones, some really ugly ones too...:D ); even the option for custom backgrounds (which i haven't tried yet).

am loving having a black keyboard...

I can't really remember this happening before, but F@H has been trying for more than 12 hours now to download a new core (to me). I keep getting:

Error: HTTP GET returned error code 404

on every attempt to download the core. I've already tried kill the "fah5" process and starting it again, which did start the download attempts anew, but still no joy. Seems odd to be given a WU when the corresponding core seems to be unavailable. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

If this means that I can burn iTMS DRM'ed video content to a DVD and play it back in my home DVD player, I'm all for it. I might actually purchase iTMS video content then. I have a 23 inch Apple monitor, but it's not the same as watching the movie in the living room. As soon as Apple lets me use my video content the way they let me use my audio content, I've got a long list of videos waiting to be bought.

    Yes.

Yes, as long as it's a real CD and not one of those wacky not-really-CD things with bizarre copy protect schemes. Even most of those can be brought into an iPod, though.

    Thanks.

P.S. Holy cow! Ebay's fees have really gotten ridiculous!!!

That's no joke, they are extremely ridiculous, I will never again sell anything on eBay, I will continue to just be a buyer, things would be A LOT cheaper if the fees didn't kill the sellers.

    Good luck on your sale!

    Andrew
